Alternative Dispute Resolution

Definition:

Mediation is a negotiation to resolve differences assisted by a third party.

It’s not always necessary to go to court to settle your issues. That’s where Mediation or Alternative Dispute Resolution can be helpful. It can be an important step in resolving disputes and saving you from going the costly, lengthy and often stressful court route. It is also a confidential process so that personal disputes are not aired in a public trial.

Arbitration: There are two types of arbitration:

  • non-binding – The decision reached by the arbitrator is just an opinion
  • binding – the arbitrator’s decision is the final word and cannot be disputed or appealed.

With the help of a trained mediator or arbitrator in conflict resolutions, mediation and arbitration can be a simpler way to resolve issues. Let GCY assist you with finding the right mediation expert for you.
